HOW TO ENTER

1.

To enter simply write a short story less than 750 words or a poem which consists of less than 15 lines.

As 2020 is the debut year of the Summer Shorts writing competition, the theme of your short story or poem should be 'The Beginning.' Use your imagination. It can be a character arriving at a new school. Or the start of a holiday. It could even be the first step onto a new planet! If you want some writing tips head over to the For writers section of the website now!

2.

Email your story or poem to Summer Shorts HQ, making sure you include  your name, age, and your parent, guardian or carer's email address, where we can contact you if you have won. Our email is:

                                            hello@summer-shorts.com

If you could send it as a Word Document or PDF document, that would be great, but email is fine too! The closing date for the competition is Sunday 27th September. Entries received after this date are not eligible for the 2020 Summer Shorts competition (but you can try again next year!)

3.

Winners and short-list will be contacted by email by 28th October 2020.
